Mayweather Vs McGregor Is Official

Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor is officially confirmed by his official Instagram site. The fight is set to take place on August 29th 2017 in Las Vegas in the T-Mobile Arena. This huge PPV fight is set to take place at 154 lbs, for the whole world to see and witness two of the biggest stars go head to head. Floyd “Money” Mayweather is touted as the best defensive boxer of all time and Conor “Notorious” McGregor is currently Lightweight Champion, he previously was two weight world Champion. This fight will be shown live on Showtime/HBO PPV with many English TV Channels looking to get it broadcasted.

Floyd Mayweather has had a battle with McGregor over social media by firing shots at each other, with Floyd stating McGregor ‘Is faking this luxurious life style” and “isn’t on his level”. Floyd has been saying for weeks that the pair of them will fight this year and Dana White confirming they had there previous date stolen by GGG vs Canelo. Mayweather is putting his 49-0 record on the line when he faces McGregor and that could be extended to 50-0 which has never been done. That record may end also with McGregor’s lethal left hand which can put any man down. Mayweather is a great technical boxer and amazing at not getting hit with him making mockeries of Ricky Hatton, Saul Alvarez and Manny Pacquiao. All of those great boxers got out-boxed and couldn’t land a single shot that rocked Floyd. With Floyd hitting 40 and being out of the ring for several years, this could be a hurdle for Floyd winning this fight. It proved a huge factor in Klitschko failing to beat the younger man in Anthony Joshua in April.

Conor McGregor is currently 27 years old and has a MMA Record of 21-3 with his biggest and recent win coming against Eddie Alvarez. A two round TKO resulted in him becoming two weight world champion which had never been done before by any fighter. Conor has been calling out Floyd for several months and over the past year he has gone on record to say “He (Conor) runs boxing” and “Floyd couldn’t compete with him”. Everyone is looking past McGregor for this fight and basing it all on the fact he has never boxed in his life. If anyone has watched Conor you would know he very rarely uses his ground game and is a very accurate and a technical combat fighter. He likes to stay on his feet and prefers to stand up and trade with his opponent, his lethal left hand can knock any fighter down. His technical ability and his power must worry Floyd and suggest that this fight is a 50-50 fight, because two men that square off in the ring one can beat the other on any given day.

Some people have been saying that this fight is bad for boxing such as Oscar De La Hoya saying “This fight is bad for boxing” and “People should boycott this fight”. These statements are truly ridiculous and sound very jealous because Oscar De La Hoya hasn’t been involved in this fight. A lot of praise must go to Dana White and Mayweather Promotions for getting this fight done within a year, where many big fights in boxing drag on for years and years. Fights such as Kell Brook vs Amir Khan has been done for years also Floyd vs Manny took a long time too. Dana got his side of the deal done a while ago and seemed to deal with “The Money Team” very well. This fight will be a huge spectacle and will only be a positive thing for boxing and MMA too. The whole world will be watching this blockbuster event and is certain to go down as the biggest fight in boxing history and set to break all records.
